Iconography for Morthel is often symbolised by a white face, similar to the icons used for Tempress.

Incidence Relating to Morthel

Morthel uses people, namely spellcasters, who fail to join him as batteries. He removes their hands and tongues so they cannot cast magic and drains their power into rings which can be utelised by other spellcasters, allowing them to cast things far beyond their ability.
Engaro claims that Morthel came to the Temple of Imogen in a physical form in search of precious stone called the Heart of Imogen, possible Genai Stones.
In the Temple of Sardonyx, a person who identified themselves as Morthel visited. He was a small man and cast some spells. He sought to do harm. He said he would have a place of dominance over Sardonyx and the other gods. He did not say he wished to have dominance over Fate. The individual took a specific holy symbol. It was a pendant with a black door, with an outline of another door beside it. Chipped on one side. The description of the man was: slender, little over 4 1/2 ft tall. Stubbled with rough hair. His hair was black with grey streaks.
Myste-Hass was attacked by terrorists who attempted to take the Blood Stone kept in the Vaults beneath The Halls, and got away with the teifling Moribund. It was overheard that Morthel will decide who lives and dies.
Information from Ardonet informed adventurers that Morthel was seductive and promised a new world, where Avatars would be able to fulfil their position in a greater magnitude. The Deacon indicated that two more of Ardonet’s kind had already been harvested. No mean feat, even for a half god like Morthel. But, Morthel has proved himself to be a liar. If we were to call for his aid, he is not an ally but does feel like he owes us something.
The Oracle informs the adventurers that Cao's heart (Wish Stone) was taken by Morthel during the Sack of Myste-Hass. She says that Fate wants to lord over the other Gods. Morthel wishes to bring them down. His mother was the true God, and he will cast the others down. He wishes to make them all mortals and rule his mothers world alone. It would allow free will to all people. When she was in the arena, she was touched by the Deacon. She saw that Ravaran and the Deacon were told to find the Star Weapons and keep them.
When touching the alter and speaking with Dariss, he says the godliness runs in Morthel’s veins. He is luring Fate into a trap. They were not thorough enough when they struck her out. She mixed in with the mortels. She did walk among them. She used those cursed stones to hide from the six. She bred. She had a son - Morthel. He has great power, but not enough to cross the Divine Gate. He seeks to take Fate’s power, absorb it and take back Tempress’s throne. He talks to Fate of an alliance. Fate is keen for allies.
A captured servant of Morthel, Pararis, gave information when captured by the adventurers. He said that Morthel operates from the Fallen Palace far to the north. He thinks there are eight gods. The Deacon and the arch mage, Ravaran bless the rings before the apprentices leave the palace. The Deacon believes that all gods are equal in their desire to serve man.
Other people say Morthel is the Emperor, destined to be nine - it is difficult to look at him when he is before you. Large, muscular and when he speaks people stop to listen.
Morthel speaks and then Genfry makes it happen. He controls the northern coast for 300 miles all the way down to Briudor.
Morthel provide his followers with locations of some of Morthel's places of operation and troop sizes. He has a red dragon with a Control Collar. He has a captive army and fleet. He’s paid off some overseas group. Also there is a culture far to the east (barbarians), uncultured with a mighty fleet of ships. Deacon is producing the Control Collars.
Ravaran informs us that Morthel plans to harness the power of Fate. He will get Fate to manifest in order to allow to take his place and then the Divine Gate. Fate wants the Genai Stones to brings back the 12. Morthel controls the Genai Stones - they are important to him.
Further information from Ravaran indicates that there is a town far to the east of the Fate temple, across a very large lake. Leanore on the far coast. Morthel has particular interest in a family there where a child was born. The child is a vessel, a vital part in his plans. Morthel only has so long in a body. He needs the right sort. Defeat him with the vessel intact and he will just return to it. There is only one born every 50 years. If no vessel is living he can’t continue after death. He wants to be secure in Myste-Hass within the week.
When Morthel was transported to a different plane by Til, the Control Collar in the vicinity lost power.
Briudor is supposed to be home to several great artifacts which will allow Morthel’s people great power and then they could march south.
We found an unnatural woman, Terynomeia, in a pit/prison cage who claimed she was cursed. Her people would not bend to Morthel. So, he kept some as experiments and others were forced by Ravaran to see a woman known as Denir in order to curse her.Terynomeia outlived her people. Terynomeia cannot follow a god. Terynomeia seemed vampiric in nature.
The first version of Toni was contacting an agent of Morthel called Barad, a man who dresses as a poor, bearded, unkept, fisherman. Toni was given money to tell Morthel where the adventurers were going.
We were told by Ardonet that he was moving the prisoners to Taria, a place where Morthel has residence.
The man Fletcher was bringing groups of orcs with Control Collars through the northern mountain pass. He was carrying papers signed by Morthel and sealed with his seal, a white face.
