It is late in the year and Harbinger, Dramos, Gartok, Rasvyn, Maolmhuire, Reinhold and Corym gather at the home of Maolmhuire and Rasvyn to plan the assault on the red dragon.
Reinhold sends Lorey a message calling him to Myste-Hass. Corym tries to convince him to stay and look after the Tower of Dariss.
Lorey makes an agreement with Corym. If Corym has not returned to collect him by 3pm, he gets to hit Corym.
Gartok hasn't seen Benadictor whilst he's been staying at the Temple of Alaie.
Harbinger collects Dragon-Slayer Longsword from Jerek, swapping him Tyrok's Reaper. He was being carved in stone by Walchard, his foot raised on a carving of Morthel's foot.
Rasvyn investigates Corym's bag and detects nothing. So, the group head to The Arena. The Beast is fighting a retarius in practice matches on the sands. Geoffrey is also at The Arena in a heated conversation with a man, Xeus, who has taken over The Arena. He hasn't seen Gallum. There looks to be about ten physically fit men working at The Arena.
Geoffrey says they're already having issues organising the Myste-Hass Council meeting, and he's been busy dealing with three murders. Geoffrey said that he retrieved a similar bag at the home of a merchant 62 Wall Street. He had been strangled and then ripped apart. He had a bag at his home similar to Corym's.
Gartok turn the bag out and nothing comes out. He tries to summon the diamonds stored in there, but not emerge. He looks in and the bottom of the bag is visible. Corym puts a coin into the bag, it disappears and can't be summoned out again.
Geoffrey and Dramos head to the Militia Barracks and collect the similar bag. Rasvyn discerns both as magical with detect magic. Corym empties the second bag and nothing comes out. Harbinger divine senses but sees nothing.
Gremlin flies into the new bag, Rasvyn looks through his eyes and can see nothing. He flies around in a dark space, but nothing gets closer or further away. Rasvyn casts light on a coin and drops it into the bag. Reinhold can see the coin. As Gremlin nears the light, shadowed fingers wrap around the coin, extinguishing the light. Gremlin is taken by the creature before he can be popped into a pocket dimension.
Geoffrey says he will bring it up at the council meeting today. But, Andro wants all public messages vetted before release, because Duos Sten had a message he wanted to release which was stopped.
Geoffrey advises us to avoid causing damage to the city or properties. He is going house to house checking the situation.
Corym heals Geoffrey, re-growing his lost hand.
Harbinger has a tether made for Altibo.
Reinhold goes to a warehouse and meets Yosen for a horse. He offers something super aggressive and exotic, a warg with a saddle. They had to dose a small dog and feed it to the warg to get it dragged into the warehouse. The warg eats dogs now. Reinhold pays 40gp for the warg, to hold the creature for at least a week. The cleric buys a black horse, Gaheme, who is very well trained by the looks of it. The warhorse is very good quality by the looks of it. He clearly used to wear a different type of saddle. He's very responsive, staying stock still on mounting and moving when commanded.
Maolmhuire goes to the Temple of Garr and speaks to Heller. He talks about a matter in the graveyard. Heller believes Morthel was tampering with bodies in the graveyard. He seems concerned that Maolmhuire is living with Rasvyn, an arcane practitioner. Maolmhuire hands over a very large collection of gold coins (5000gp). Maolmhuire calls himself a saint and says he will take the red dragon.
Heller asks about his 'Toad'. Maolmhuire asks about an apprentice and Heller says he will find one.
Corym Word of Recalls himself back to the Tower of Dariss and speaks with Lorey. They spar to release some of Lorey's pent up energy. Lorey wins.
Rasvyn scrys the red dragon. He sees the peak of the volcano, where the dragon is perched just on the brim in the extreme heat. He's almost aglow with heat, basking. He's looking south. Rasvyn then scrys south of the volcano. There is a structure here, a squarish building that goes to the waters edge. It was once bigger, but columns and walls have collapsed into the water. There is a hole in the roof of the building. There are lights, much like torches inside.
Rasvyn then goes to the Temple of Peridot, where they are repairing the doors. Morthel took everything and was transporting them off, he was veracious for knowledge. The man who came here spared the Peridot worshipper, Yerek, on the condition that he would inform him about more priests turning up in the town. Ravaran gives him a book named the Ritual's of Silma to begin the new collection.
Maolmhuire inspects his jar with a tadpole in it. The creature floats a little as if its maybe alive. It stares at him as he drifts to sleep.
Dramos meets Gartok at the Temple of Alaie, whilst Harbinger and Rasvyn fall asleep at the house. Many of the rooms at the temple have been ransacked and the doors broken. There are no priests or belongings left untaken. They go to the alter, which is made from an unworked piece of wood.
Dramos scrys on a Benadictor. He hears a voice say "Remember." A women moves down a corridor, she is crying and carrying a bundle. Dramos feels himself stood in the corridor and hears a baby crying. Outside is black, with a grey horizon. A rabble of teaming beast pour over the castle walls. There is a pulse of green light that blasts out of the castle, destroying the horde of demons trying to get in. She looks back into the castle and sees a dark figure running towards her. Suddenly, Dramos is in greenery. A women is here with her back to you. She has a bundle in her arms, a book, which she wraps and thrusts into the soil. Dramos knows this place. He's been there before.
He does not see Benadictor.
Rasvyn scrys on Ravaran. He sees the arcane pracitoner at the end of the room with a bunch of papers. Another voice, an aid, points out the scrying orb. Rasvyn communicates telepathically. He taunts that he's busy with lots of people, deciding what to do with them. He refers to goliaths as "virtually slaves" and religious users as "misguided" - power is ours, he says. Rasvyn tells Ravaran to keep clear of Myste-Hass. He says he granted it to the adventurers. He covers a large sheet of paper with spell books that he has out. Rasvyn attempts to cast suggestion on the aid, but he resists and is told to leave the office.
Reinhold gives Lorey him the warg, called Kong, which he beats until unconsciousness. But, he seems pretty touched to receive a gift. He does manage to ride the warg, but he wraps its mouth with a length of leather.
Everyone sets off to the Tower of Dariss, Maolmhuire with his cart and horse. As Altibo dives down with Harbinger tethered on the back, screaming.
In the morning, Corym casts Find the Path and it tries to lead the group through the Eastern Swamp. They travel directly east to meet the river, then turn north. It is eerily quiet as the party approaches the mountains, an area they've never been to before. There is a waterfall high up in mountains, rushing violently out of the foothills and moving south. There is an old wooden bridge, hammered into the ground.
In the long grass on the opposite side, Reinhold spies a booted, human leg, stuck out of the grass. A tree has been freshly broken on the other side as well. Gremlin flies over. An elderly man lies face down in the grass. The man moves weakly.
The man has several slashes across his chests. They don't look like sword marks. Harbinger heals him, but the wounds reopen. A pale man set upon him, he wasn't armoured. He smiled the whole time. He says, "The pale man has me, after he beat me he carried on that way." He mentions the power of Dariss flowing through him from our power. His words are not external. The pale man took his spirit. I should expert Garr soon. He is Zull. He should have been able to defeat the man but he whipped him repeatedly with the whip, then drew him out. The adventurers are talking to the memories in the body.
Corym casts Greater Restoration and it awakes the man who Zull had suppressed, Goredon. He is a man from Bruidor, back when it was a flourishing town. Setnis rules over Bruidor, in his version of the current, the town is well protected. We inform him that many hundreds of years have passed. His wife, Surrah is likely dead.
Corym casts Legend Lore and learns that Setnis is the leader, but he is subservient to the The Twelve who role through the streets and make conflicting demands at anytime.
The man knows of Gilcas, but not the Tower of Dariss. He knows it as the The Demon's Finger. In fact, he is very hostile to Dramos. He worshipped Ardonnet.
Reinhold goes through the mans pack, replacing a scroll with food and supplies. The scroll says - "Harbinger, first moves on me. See you soon."
Gartok attempts to follow the footprints north. They are large prints, that hover near the body then set of to the north east. The adventurers continue. The estuary butts up against the sheer mountain face, ejected from the rock. There are steps in the rock, with a number of wooden buildings high up on the mountainside. There is no way for the cart to ascend.
Dramos runs forward with his cloak and lands on the bridge high above. He sees a group of people looking over the bridge, down at the group gathered below.
Kong is sleeping because Lorey chokes him out, and they remain at the bottom of the cliff face. Maolmhuire must leave his cart and horse.
There are buildings, a windmill, a circular building with a dome and two bridges up on this rise. There is wall that barriers off the banks off the back of the river. There are humans and elves. The people here are not well dressed and there doesn't seem to be any animals. There are towers on either side of the bridge, near the precipice.
The people are hoisting up a net full of fish that blocks of the edge of the river. Dramos is looking around.
Suddenly, an eagle attacks Dramos's bat form. Meanwhile, Harbinger trips on the steps up to the bridge, knocking Reinhold, Maolmhuire and Rasvyn. The latter two fall from the edge, until Rasvyn casts fly to save them both.
Dramos returns to his normal teifling form. He notes that there is commotion because the players are rising up towards their settlement. Dramos just approaches and leans on the rail casually. The people are talking about "people returning". Realising Dramos is there, the other man calls "ALARM". They scream wizard when Rasvyn appears, pulling weapons.
A large figure, human and still draped in furs, with a thick beard and hair appears. He assumes the group is from Var Kartark's party with new goods. He introduces himself as Zalas, head of the community. They haven't seen a wizard for a while. He offers food and water. He asks everyone's names in the adventuring group and introduces a number of people from their group. They seem especially taken aback by Corym's divine powers.
Malmas, clean shaven, with long blond hair and a light tunic and skirt runs over to aid Reinhold.
They have no inn, but Zalas offers us a space in his house. He lives in the house with the dome.
The man talks about a woman in the hills with a house that has legs - a babayaga. They are not friends with her though.
They seems uncomfortable with talk of Dariss and Altibo.
Reinhold spots that a number of the villagers are unhappy with the situation and Zalas trying to smooth over the situation. All of the weapons they carry are extremely high quality. They have engraving and detailing on them, far higher quality than the clothing they bare. Some of them are wearing hidden amulets.
These people were nomads before Zalas gave them this life. When they moved around, they had holy people but they were taken, alongside their shaman who went with Morthel. Zalas tries to distract the private conversations with the fishermen, but is then threatening when Reinhold says he would like to talk to Voice on his own.
Ororad is very sick, a sickness has come to him and he's been bed ridden for a couple of weeks.
Voice asks Reinhold to tell Zalas that he was useful.
Harbinger tells Altibo not to startle the people, but he extends his wings and shows himself off.
Rasvyn sees a couple of boats moored in a dock. He investigates, and speaks with a man whose son has a black mark on his body that is making him sick. The boy, Chirilit, is around fifteen or sixteen. There is a cluster of necrotic damage on his body, much like the veins of used Genai Stone. The wound causes pain. His eyes are delirious. He says he wasn't struck or touched. He says he hasn't handled and gems or crystals. It started about a week ago. They were in the village. They never leave the valley and have been present for a year. The father is concerned his son is getting close to the shepherd of death, Ankelus.
The houses have no symbols of religious worship whatsoever and there appears to be no houses of worship. They did not build this place, they are peaceful people who just inhabit it. There river always offers bountiful food.
They have not seen anyone in this area, except the trading parties. They've seen the red dragon and black dragon, but they have nothing they want. Zalaz watched his brother dissolved by the acid of the black dragon.
The man talks about death being part of "The Plan".
Dramos approaches one of the towers. The door is gone and he peers in. There is a hatch in the floor and stone staircase going up. There is a table and damp. The floor above is empty and there is a hatch going up to another higher floor. The tower has a great view of the surrounding area. There is a spy glass affixed to the battlements. There is a small triangle and wheel marked on the side.
Reinhold tries to help Zalas's wife, and she makes him cut up all the fish. All of the metal work is very high quality. Zalas brings all of the nice things to her for happiness, but she would prefer his company. Reinhold slips her 20gp.
They have not seen Var Kartark for a long time. Now it is always people who work for him that come. But, no one has come for four months.
Harbinger has left Altibo outside. He is instructed that "INCIDENT" is the code word for evil doers. Also, Altibo wants her to use the whistle to call him.
They worship the following gods - Eliamum, Issachar, Currltafan, Zissa, Gila, Amaris, Keturah and Ankelus. They pray as a private thing after Morthel took their holy people. Their shaman disappeared. Shaman is a thinner man, with a trimmed beard. He travelled his own path and give wisdom. His name was Bansi. He warned them that there was big things coming and then he went off. He had rings and a necklace made from golden disks and bones. His hair was dark.
They have to be careful to stay in their group after nightfall. There are things that live in the hills - giants and other big creatures.
Lorey runs up the stairs when Reinhold calls for him. Dramos asks who the best fighter is and Maram,"The Bear", is supposedly the best fighter. Kong has been put to sleep again.
Zalas takes Harbinger and Altibo to an octagonal building. There is a table and wooden stairs in here. On the second story, there are murals on the roof. A winged horse, surrounded by flame with flaming eyes. On the other side of the room, there are a pair of yellowish eyes. A darkened face is depicted. There is battle on the other walls, there are shields and swords, staffs and some symbols of Dariss. This is Ankelus. He just knows its Ankelus.
They found the town had corpses in the buildings and in the street.
The adventurers learn that multiple people are sick here. Reinhold investigates and finds that the sick have a scratch which has scabbard over, three distinct puncture marks. Reinhold casts greater restoration and Maolmhuire condemns him to Garr. Maolmhuire hears the voice of Garr. He whispers that the body is his and Maolmhuire is also his. The restoration heals the boy.
These people do not have a god of war. In fact, it is best to avoid their schemes. Issachar is the god of rot and disease.
The second man is between 30-40 and has a more mundane fever.
Corym summons his fortified castle, amazing Zalas. A rock tumbles down from the rock face. He quickly leaves.
The full moon is high in the sky.
Rasvyn uses Hootie to listen to the chatter and they talk about a need to lock the doors and stay inside, because something happens otherwise. The other houses have shuttered their windows. Returning to the fortress, Rasvyn sees a large figure - probably 12 foot tall. He is crying out and then sniffing. He cries out towards the moon and a bunch of others are heard calling out in the mountains.
Rasvyn locks him in ice with a spell. The creature looks like an ogre. Running along, away from the creature, they see more figures leaping around in the hills.
The group decide they are going to lure them over to the fortress. The creatures throw a rock. They're disgusting vomiting, poisoning creatures. With the creatures thoroughly murdered, the group went to bed in the temple.
Worried about leaving the corpses out and not offering them to Garr, Dramos turns Harbinger and Reinhold in apes, and then the group set about trying to gather the creatures at the base of the waterfall. Maolmhuire casts speak with dead. It says its from somewhere close to the sky, close to death. The creatures say that they prey on the village for food for their tribe and a blessing for Ankelus. They've seen the dragon in the north. Eventually, Maolmhuire says a few words and they set fire to the bodies.
Corym is meditating, but a black-haired creature apprehends him. "There you are," it says. It rips the life out of Corym, Rasvyn is already unconscious. Lorey rushes in, alongside Gartok who is awaiting faithfully outside. The creature begins to pull the bodies into the Bag of Holding, contested by the party.
The rest of the group arrive to chaos. The creature lets go, whispering "soon..." before disappearing into the darkness. Reinhold trys to leap into the Bag of Holding. Maolmhuire heals Rasvyn.
Corym goes to the rock face and seals both in the rock with stone shape.
The group rests.
In the morning, the group speak with Zalas, speaking of Daris and Ankelus. Zalas has convinced a women, Jovinis, to pilot the boat inland. Corym seeks the sailor out. Reinhold repairs the boat with mending, repairing the ship. She is blown away by the power of the cleric, claiming gods to be distant. She admits that Zalas is frightened of the adventurer's power. He would sell the adventurers out to protect his people. She mentions that Zalas has made a deal that keeps the people safe - hinting at the issues with the creatures.
Ankelus is described as a huge hulking figure, living in a realm to the side of our own realm. He waits for the souls to come to him.
A breakfast spread of fish is put out where the group eats. Dramos explores the tower on the opposite cliff to the evening before. He attempts to scry the dragon and the creature resists.
Altibo and Harbinger have a tough conversation, discussing that he was created, he has died and Harbinger once worshipped Fate.
Zalas collects the gold. Money is not used as a community.
Travelling through the mountains leaves the group with a feeling of unease, as if something is watching us. A boulder falls from the face of the slopes, but no assailant is seen.
Maolmhuire secretly casts Geas on Jovinis.
When the group talk to Jovinis about the dragon, she admits that Zalas keeps the villagers away from other settlements, away from the greed and corruption of other fishing ports. She has seen the dragon, but she beleives the adventurers to be extremely powerful.
The boat arrives at the first of lakes nearing the sea. A humanoid stands at the edge of the sea, hands in the water. There are fish and animals, and settlements. Corym, Reinhold and Gartok utterly fail at trying fish, putting hooks in one another. Maolmhuire does a little better, before losing the rod.
Meanwhile, Lorey sees a women in the water.
Altibo reports there are boats on the lake up ahead, then there is a dam before the inland sea. There are buildings there too. There are boats on the inland sea as well. As the steed said, there is a large wooden structure passing through the lake. There are figures in leather armour and plain clothes. An angular side passage is cut out to allow boats through.
The group pull the boat up to a jetty, and a party heads down to talk. He has short-cropped hair, a stubbled face and a leather band around his head. His clothes are worn. Krodos is his name, and he is representing the interests of Wolfspine. None of the people have any valuables.
Dramos talks about trading, and the man asks the group to leave the vessel and head to the town on foot. The dragon will set upon any ship the mayor of Wolfspine hasn't blessed and granted a small stone which signals their presence is allowed. Renik has an arrangement that prevents the creature from attacking them. Krenik has always been mayor of the town and he was quick to make the arrangement, because the dragon wasn't awlays around. The mayor knew exactly what to do.
He won't share the mayors name, asks us to share ours. Dramos gives the name Tenpenny, Corym gives Balfiel, Harbinger admits to her name without any note from the man, Maolmhuire claims to be Mal, Reinhold claims he is Master Brayor, lord of the expedition and says we're from the south.
These people hate slavery, especially since Morthel's time. He checks if Gartok is well, that they will protect him if he needed it. The mayor is called Krenik.
Krodus laughs at us when he thinks we're from the "backwater" village Ulunghad. Jovinis decides to stay with the boat, to watch over it. Maolmhuire gives Jovinis some gold and leaves her with the boat. Krodus assures the group that she'll be safe.
The group move off a couple of miles to Wolspine. The volcano is seen in the distance. There are temples to Garr, Alaie and Imogen in the town of Wolfpine. There are tieflings, dark-skinned dwarves, humans and taverns. No one has any wealth. The group are led to a tall round structure in the centre of the town.

-

Moving into the town, Krodus asks the group not to move off and leads the group to the main hall. He says they are already being watched. There is an inn called The Bent Crook. Magic is allowed in the town, providing it is not used in a hostile way.
There is a crumbling cathedral that was devoted to more than one god. It was considered a problem because each individual god did not have their own space. But, its falling down now. Krodus seems nervous discussing divinity.
Inside the halls, the layout and architecture looks very similar to that in Myste-Hass, but if the main entrance was instead used as a audience chamber and filled with a table, instead of the mosiac. There are other things going on in the other rooms.
The adventurers head into the hall.
Rasvyn gives the name Baldor before Krenik. The mayor says he doesn't impose his will on the people, but Harbinger senses that is a lie. Krenik is wearing a gold chain and two golden rings. He claims to tend to the city and its walls, a little to the lake. Krenik made a deal with someone who know how to deal with dragons.
The servant who appeared was an older woman, meek.
A tall man wearing plate armour enters the halls. There is a hint of concern from Krenik when this indisvidual. Arical is administrator and to assissts with maintaining the safety of the town. His features are obscured by a visored helm. He has a great sword on his back, a longsword at his side and daggers at his side.
Reinhold gives the servant a gold coin which she takes under Krenik's permission.
They don't get a lot of travellers.
After leaving, Kronus says that Arical is an outsider that came to be at the mayor's side at some point before the dragon appeared.
Reinhold and Maolmhuire go off with Kronus back to speak with Jovinis on the boat. Reinhold gives Jovinis some brandy. He is drinking liberally.
Rasvyn uses Hootie to listen to the conversation with Krenik and Arical. Arical says nothing, but Krenik is justifying that the adventurers are not a threat and he hasn't said anything. I will give them what they want and they will be on their way. Arical says nothing, but krenik asks when he will leave and mentions that, though everything for them is in tatters, they will give the adventurers what they want. Eventually Arical marches close to Krenik in a very threatening manner. He insists that the mayor get rid of the adventurers otherwise they'll be consequences in a voice that Rasvyn recognises from an unknown source.
Meanwhile, Dramos and Harbinger go to the market and the tiefling speaks with a tradesman of the same race. The market man has terribly worn vegetables on sale. He suggested that Drammos should know of Harbinger's of Fate given where they come from.
The tiefling, Ramallo, reveals that Malarshall is a respected individual of their races community. He is meeting with him at dusk, near the docks across the street from the tavern, three buildings down, a small building with a porch.
Gartok checks out the temple of Alaie, where the building is new and constructed in an open gazebo type structure. Plant life and ivy had been encouraged to grow throughout the temple.
Just as Gartok is about to pray, a man comes over and interrupts his commune with nature. He asks whether Gartok feels her presence. The man knows Benadictor, she came through months ago then moved on. She came to investigate the dead bodies which were in the water. He says lots of people he knows come from miles away. The man keeps interrupting and asking questions during Gartok's ritual. When the spell is completed, he senses influences from other planes of existence, powerful celestials, powerful undead and powerful fiends. The celestial emanation and the other plane comes from the main halls, the undead near the water and feinds from all over the town.
Harbinger speaks with Altibo who is just outside the town. He wants respect. He promises Harbinger that he won't dive until she says the word 'Dive', to build trust. Then, if he proves he can do this, she will allow him to make more decisions. Harbinger also asks him to only take note of evil doers, noting details about them, because he actually attacked a robber back in Myste-Hass without Harbinger's knowledge.
At the Crook's Inn have all been set aside and paid for by the mayor. All the rooms are on the third floor. The bar appears open. There are four rooms, 4, 5, 6, 7. Lorey takes a patron outside to wrestle. A crowd appears.
All the worshippers of Dariss bunk in the nicest of rooms - 7. Dramos shifts two beds close together. He then sneaks out, sending a message to Harbinger. He goes to his meeting with the other tieflings. The building is a warehouse. Ramallo introduces Dramos, by his proper name, to the others. They ask how he arrives, and all laugh that it's by boat. The tieflings arrived internally. They all came through the gateway. They are refugees, escaped from a hellish plane. It was nice but had its problems. There were plenty of people who did not like their sort. The people of Wolfpine are content to mingle freely.
They call a slender tielfling over, called Gree, a deep bluish colour. She asks about how Dramos feels about hanging out with the different races. She's hitting on Dramos - HARD. She asks what room he's staying in. She says that she is a free spirit, no one keeps her captive now.
Dramos says he's become lost on his travels, he is ultimately going back where he came from. He says he is not rejecting Gree, merely saying later.
There is a longstanding arrangement here, between the people who opened the portal and the mayor. The high mage of the group, allowed use of these trinkets which prevent the dragon's interest. But, the trinkets lose their power close to the dragon's island. The high mage and their group still use the portal when they come into town. He often travels with a group of armoured soldiers, some of which he leaves here to ensure no one steps out of line. He arrives in town and goes straight through the portal.
The tieflings say how awful Anglan is, without mentioning the name Anglan. He says the void lands are ruled by demons and devils all more powerful. The city is ruled by knights who hate the devil kind. Dramos describes his vision from Arianna. They talk about it being a nice story.
Harbinger gets a message from 'Til - "Fate is at Bruidor. Large statue type figure. Pretending to be other gods. Also, Extremely dangerous in this area. Could be goodbye." Harbinger replies - "Where exactly? Fate is harvesting the avatars. He has taken Zull. The bastard left me a taunting note. If you are in danger - run."
In the bar, Reinhold and Maolmhuire order a round of drinks for a group who look like sailors. They talk about Skortet's fancy ship, The Morningstar. Reinhold gives one of the men 30gp to run to the ship and retrieve the captain. Maolmhuire uses disguise self to make himself into a sailor-looking individual. The captain arrives. He says that the ship is normally employed by the town, but for money they will do other tasks. But, the captain will still ask important questions.
The sailors say that sailing north is very dangerous. There are dead things beneath the water.
The captain wants to see the money, not here, but somewhere which proves it is real. They agree to meet at 7am with the party. The captain says he decides how far they go and when to pull back.
Mal goes to follow the captain, in his disguise. But, Arical is outside, waiting. Dramos returns to see Gree waiting outside the tavern.
Mal prays to Garr before settling to rest. He apologises for resurrection, then speaks of 'Til. Garr's voice calls out - he asks Mal what he has done, then says everything is broken. Since the gate, things have been wrong. No souls have gone to Garr. He tries to end his communion with the lord of death, but Garr is not finished with him. Lives have been lost, but souls have not gone to him. Hella does not call out to Garr. Mal promises he will return 'Til, and all the other souls to Garr.
Dramos and Harbinger have a private conversation, where Dramos gives her a ring and speaks of her past. Then, Mal arrives, desperate to return to the body of 'Til. He casts his behir teeth, which show the circle of Garr and an arrow pointing north.
Hootie is set to watch the group, whilst they head to bed in their respective rooms.
In the morning, the group wakes up rested. Reinhold casts augury, slamming a dagger in offering to Dariss. He cannot remove his hand from the dagger, but sees a figure in the room with him. Reinhold asks about Ravaran, but the being before him claims he was sent by Dariss, an individual called Tor. He is a tall figure, armoured and robed, with a helmet that covers the top part of his face. He explains that it is very easy to speak with gods at this time. There is interference in play against all of the gods. There is a rot here. Powers erode under the influence of the gods, and they are closer to the mortal realm, even though the Divine Gate is intact. All of the important gods were there to witness the Battle of Myste-Hass.
The adventurers set off to the docks. Arical is visible, accompanied by two hooded figures wearing dark red cloaks. He is looking out to sea, and they don't seem bothered by our presence.
There is a mist on the water as the group look for The Morningstar. Arical strides forward. Skortet greets the group, wary of Arical. Reinhold casts water walk on the group. Rasvyn casts see invisibility, noting a scrying orb nearby. Dramos uses his ring of x-ray vision, revealing a scarred face on one side and Gileon on the other. He is wearing a Control Collar.
Lorey starts pushing for a fight with Arical. Everyone boards the ship, including Lorey with coaxing.
Skortet pushes the boat off from the docks. They set out onto the inland sea. It is misty, but Gartok determines that the weather is due to be still, with the sun burning off the mist later.
One of the hands is called Yemis.
Dramos and Corym talk with Skortet, telling him their plans to head to the volcano. He informs the group that the undead mainly effect travellers in the night. There is a temple on the island, there always has been, it is where the towns benefactor sourced the stones from. He made a deal with another man who got the stones from the volcano. He asks for 2000gp, to deliver the group to the island, leave and return in two days if it is safe to do so and the group hasn't messaged them. He agrees with his men that they will perform these duties and not go near the temple.
Corym controls the weather, creating a strong wind to fill the sails and get the boat moving. Rasvyn casts identify on the stone. It is a disk-shaped, smooth stone, with the etching of a woman with her hair blowing behind her. The stone provides a level of concealment against evil entities, but the magic is not pure. It seems like there are caveats, leeway and technicalities in the casting. The stone also loses power as one approaches the island, potentially because it gets closer to the caster.
Skortet says there is a priestess on the island, with a group of seers who blind themselves in order to see better. The sailor says that some pilgrims do travel to the island to join in the seers communion. Her name is Aravis.
Reinhold mends part of the boat.
Dramos scries on The Oracle. She's in a simple room, with a shuttered window, birds outside. She is writing in a book, but she stops when the orb nears her. She asks "are you here?", looking past the orb. She closes the book, picks it up and pops it in the top drawers and locking it. "I know you're here. Tell me, what am i supposed to see? Please, what will happen? Why do you no longer speak to me, I did everything you ask?" She leaves the room, going down a flight of stairs and heads into a street - moving towards the docks of Myste-Hass. She emerged from a building on the opposite side to her old home. She sits in a public space, until the spells ends.
Rasvyn scries the island, seeing no animals or things. There is the briefest show of movement in the temple, but the roof has collapsed.
Rasvyn casts project image into the cave inside the dragon's lair, materialising at the gate. One of the columns has collapsed. He sees the dragon move out of view. The dragon is repopulating his lair with items from town - the mirror (placed outward facing), the sarcophagus and other things. The dragon says - "yes, I'm home", then Rasvyn loses connection.
The first day passes without incident. The boat is brought still for the night. If the speed continues, we may make it tomorrow.
Harbinger, Reinhold, Rasvyn and Hootie take first watch. Harbinger sees a glow beneath the water. People crest the water, undead floating from the waves. They wake the rest of the group. Reinhold wakes everyone. A fight ensues which is dealt with via a series of turn undead abilities, particularly Corym's destroy undead.
The captain claims that he's never seen any undead swarms like this, the party bringing dangers that are unique.
The rest of the night passes without incident.
The group wakes up on a fine, clear day. The smoke from the volcano can be seen in the distance.
Altibo hasn't been seen, but Rasvyn uses a sky rite in order to call him onto the boat. Harbinger rests during the day. At the end of the day, the volcano comes into view.
Water laps up to the doors of the temple, the tide washing in through the front doors. Flat black land surrounds the rest of the volcano.
The adventurers decide to depart from the boat at some distance, using water walk to traverse over the waves to the land. Altibo is already on the land. Maolmhuire uses his abilities to convince Jovinis to come with us to the island.
Entering the temple, there are huge arched ceilings above water filled rooms. Areas of the roof are cracked. There is an echoing sound of footsteps in here. There is a pool of deep-green liquid.
A female voice rings out - "I knew you would come." She is the seer and sees what is to come. Gartok sees a blinded cyclops ahead. 'She sees, She saves' are the words of the cyclops. He lifts his hammer and smashes it into the ground hurting the adventurers. Jovinis falls unconscious. A second figure runs in. Maolmhuire picks up Jovinis and begins running for cover.
Reinhold banishes the cyclops.
The woman's voice is whispering away, with words of hate against the group. "As I had foreseen, murder in your hearts. Stalking into my temple. You have intent to kill here." A strong wind accompanies her voice and there is a rumble from out at sea.
Lorey is more on edge than normal.
Harbinger notices that some of the figures are statues, and the cyclops had put out its eye.
Altibo arrives. But, water is flowing heavily into the chamber and knocks him down. Rasvyn sees a shape forming in the water. A ocean giant rises up attacking. The creature pulls a conch and blows a tremendous blow of thunder in a cone towards most of the adventurers, killing Hootie.
Dramos speaks to the woman and she says that the group is safe from the dragon, but she'll only see us one at a time.
Corym moves along a top arch towards a larger room, seeing a pulsating gem stone with vines wrapped around it. There is a female, with horns and a naked top half. Her bottom half is an enormous coiled snake, with flickers of light in her eyes and flames in her hands. She whispers into his ear, then bites him. On the verge of death, Corym reaches up and uses inflict wounds. Her skin gains black lines, as if she is a Genai Stone.
Reinhold casts greater restoration on a stone figure, bringing the injured man back to the present. His leg is missing and his jaw is broken. Rasvyn heals him with a a potion of healing. The injured man says the seer did this to him, she is a daughter of the gods - Bin and Traeloc.
Rasvyn is just looking to see whats happening to Corym, when a Genai-like creature comes through another door, removing all magical effects in his aura. The creature blasts lightening damage from it, draining and then recharging. Lorey and Gartok attack the crystalline creature. Eventually, Rasvyn's magic takes down the creature.
Dramos and Maolmhuire attempt to follow Corym's path. As he makes his way across the bridge, he sees a person tied up in chains in a small room to the side. The individual has no tongue or hands. Dramos starts to untie the man.
Then, Maolmhuire sees her, is stunned and she attacks. She drags the priest off. Harbinger and Altibo pursue by air.
Maolmhuire sends a scorching ray from the amulet of blasting at the vine-wreathed Genai Stone. The female screams out - "No, you fool! You'll kill us all!" The stone explodes.
Corym casts dawn behind the snake creature, casting her and the stone in radiant light.
The snake lady releases Maolmhuire, whispers something and starts running away. She is casting a long-distance communication spell as she runs, but Rasvyn uses a counter spell. She starts casting another stone into a anti-dragon based stone. She's being hit by damage from behind. Harbinger and Altibo sweep in and decapitate her, keeping her head.
The dragon arrives. It makes eye contact with Harbinger and breathes fire, annihilating Altibo. The cyclops returns when Reinhold loses concentration. A number of adventurers go down. The handless prisoner is incinerated.
Lorey runs in. Dramos tries to summon a hound, but it fails. Something is prohibiting teleportation magic.
Reinhold calls for Dariss's aid, and his call is answered. A flash of thunder rolls across the sky, a wave washes over the dragon bringing down the roof and walls inside the entrance to the cave. The door is blocked off, and the dragon tarries on the other side, fighting with the masonry.
Harbinger invokes the power of Dariss, calling Crusader Mantle.
The dragon crawls over the roof, taunting the group.
