(Summary to follow)

Session 2: 31/08/23

Raziel searches for an undertaker to take care of the body currently festering away inside 1 Shiver Court. He makes arrangements for the funeral, headstone, and priests. The body is to be collected shortly after noon. Returning to the house, Raziel locks the door, runs upstairs and quickly searches for documents proving ownership of the house and the identity of the body downstairs. Raziel finds a presentable suit for the body to be dressed in. Rushing downstairs into the kitchen, Raziel opens a window to clear the stench, arranges the suit for the body, and clears his head. Crowley is currently in the living room, helping himself to a drink whilst watching Raziel run around like crazy. There is a knock on the door - Kohdron, Olog, and The Badger have arrived to participate in the business of the day. Raziel explains that in addition to the work given by Jeremiah Crook, an unnamed 'client' has paid for an 'express service' job. He starts reading the letter from the client when there is a knock at the door. The two undertakers have arrived, a small gnomish creature and a slender large humanoid. After a bit of a kerfuffle the body is taken away to be dealt with. Raziel explains that the client has paid up front for certain tasks to be carried out, and that there are further tasks that can be completed which will be paid extra. The two main areas of focus for the company are: 1) A gnome by the name of Handy Goosebridle has been arrested for stealing at the temple of Fate. The company is to release Handy from custody and bring him to a safe location of the clients choosing. 2) The company is to secure documents from the council relating to the decision to re-open the Temple of Fate. Additional documentation relating to Geoffrey Howell and the Militia complaints procedure, re-elections, etc are to also be procured if possible.

Further details of the additional deliverables are to be announced in due course.

The party splits into two, with Olog,Kohdron, and The Badger heading towards the council building. Raziel and Crowley head towards the Militia Barracks.

Before arriving at the council, The Badger warns Olog and Kohdron that they might need to fight each other to create a diversion. Walking through town, there is a gathering happening over at the Temple of Fate, it appears that construction is progressing at a rapid pace - extra annexes are being erected.

Walking into the council building, The Badger heads straight towards Harris - he enquires how things have been with Steph since they last met. Unfortunately it seems that they are not meant to be. Harris is still working on those numbers relating to the Quarrying business and the People's company - Harris expresses his wish to quit his council job and start meaningful work like his Dad. The Badger offers him a chance of employment within Raziel's company, but first he has to meet up at The Dregs with his council paperwork proving that the council are defrauding the people's company. The Badger asks Harris to get any documentation relating to the approval of the Temple of Fate, Harris isn't too familiar with where documents are stored however, and The Badger gives up and decides to speak to Steph instead. The Badger asks Steph what went wrong with Harris, she says she wants a proper man with fire in his belly and that Harris just doesn't do it for her. She provides The Badger with council minutes for the previous 5 months and Steph points out that disgraced former council member Andro is currently working in the corner and would gladly assist us with what we want. The group turn around to start sifting through the minutes, Olog gives Steph a little nudge and a wink about him being a proper man, Steph giggles and seemingly becomes enamoured with Olog.

Olog starts sifting through the paperwork, Kohdron starts getting bored and making paper gliders. The Badger approaches Andro for information regarding The Militia and Geoffrey. Andro's workstation is piled high with an impressive array of paperwork - Andro is trying to work his way back into favour. Laying on his desk are plans for construction and resettlement into a town called Briudor in the North. Andro expresses his disproval towards the Temple of Fate being built and confirms he would have voted against it had he attended the meeting. When pressed, he had nothing but nice words to say about Geoffrey and that any complaints about him would have had to be heard at the Council meetings, and in any case, if a complaint was thought to be serious, Geoffrey would have been immediately suspended.

Olog announces that he has found what the group were looking for, The Badger studies the minutes to confirm that it meets the requirements. He packs the rest of the council minutes into a bag and instructs Olog and Kohdron to start a distraction near Andro and disperse all of the paperwork on his desk.

Olog and Kohdron argue about a gold piece on the floor inside a mosaic, this then results in Kohdron being launched towards the paperwork, he smashes into the table throwing documents everywhere as The Badger starts to leave the building.

Militia rush to surround Olog and Kohdron who push their way through towards the doors, taking damage from a few crossbow bolts on their way out. Steph intervenes and helps Olog escape by tripping up a member of the militia. The Badger slits his coin purse at the entrance to the council building and empties the contents, announcing to the general public that there is free gold on the council. The crowd that scrambles to the council provides the group with enough distraction and space to make their getaway.

Raziel and Crowley prepare for their trip to the Militia Barracks. Crowley dresses up as a priest. Raziel and Crowley purchase food and drink from a stall outside the barracks, Raziel gives the guards outside two servings of Dragon's Breath and enters the barracks. Raziel asks the receptionist for details regarding Handy Goosebridle, he is scheduled to be hanged tonight. Raziel and Crowley are granted an audience with Geoffrey, who maintains the decision to hang Handy was taken by Sten following a quick trial. Raziel pleads Handy's innocence and Crowley offers testimony as a holy man. Unfortunately Geoffrey is adamant that they cannot change the decision of the council. They are interrupted by guards declaring a situation has broken out in the council building.

Raziel and Crowley head back to base, buying food and drink as they go. The council minutes are studied. The motion for the temple of Fate was brought by Alcon Elmusk and Maya Arthas. This was then backed by prominent members of the town, Heptin, Bronadon, and Olyant.

The only member of the council to vote against was Sten who was so incensed at the decision, he stormed out of the meeting

A further meeting discussing the Quarry names Goraz as the person responsible for dealing with the Stone and People's Company.

The group decide to jailbreak Handy at the gallows. Crowley is to administer the last rites, Olog and Kohdron are to release Homing Badgers that have been greased by Raziel and lit, local hoodlums are to be paid off to throw fire bombs at the gallows. The Badger is to meet Harris and seek his input into aiding the jailbreak.

Harris hands over the notes relating to stone at the quarry and admits he has no friends to help with the job at the gallows. He agrees to perform interference as the Militia chase the group.

Olog, Kohdron, and Raziel purchase and make firebombs, they approach three shady characters at The Dregs and pay them to launch the firebombs at the gallows.

Crowley petitions Geoffrey to allow him to administer the last rites to Handy and the other criminals at the gallows. After some persuading, Geoffrey gives the go ahead, Crowley leaves his weapons and what Geoffrey thinks is his spellcasting focus behind and steps up to the gallows.

Raziel send a message to Handy Goosebridle informing him that Kishaan has secured a safe room at the Godly Tides and that he should immediately head there when the opportunity presents itself.

Militia and Geoffrey assemble around the gallows. Geoffrey gives a speech about law and order. The Badger gives bardic inspiration towards Crowley and Harris, and mingles in with the crowd. Olog is spotted by the militia lighting his firebomb, he drops his badgers and attempts to flee, Kohdron remains undetected. Militia members begin to chase Olog, Geoffrey steps in to guard to gallows.

A lone firebomb is seen hurtling through the air towards the gallows and the session is drawn to a close.
