The Dead Man's Raft was discovered in the Western Docks during Operation Pincer. As the only sizeable sailing ship in the Western Docks at the time, she was taken in order to evacuate prisoners from Myste-Hass. The ship suffered substantial fire damage due to the Ancient Red Dragon during the fighting prior to her claiming.
The Dead Man's Raft was beached and anchored on the shoreline near the estuary to the south of the Tower of Dariss as they escaped with the captives recovered from Myste-Hass. The ship was later recovered by Crassus and the crew he had assembled, initially financed by The People's Company.

The names of crew members who were lost in the line of duty are inscribed on the ship's bell:

Verru

Course charted between Myste-Hass and Kyushu. The target locations is an uncharted island, three days travel out of Myste-Hass. During the first day of sailing we struck the spire of a sunken cathedral, thus delayed, the Eruption loomed out of the horizon and swiftly fell in pursuit upon us. We evaded the Eruption by entering unnatural mists. Zeru and Giles were lost to harpies in the mist. Within the mist, we encountered the Sirama Tree which once stood above the city of Galamine before it was drowned by a cataclysmic flood from the east. The two further days' transit to the uncharted island was uneventful.
The approach to the island was guarded by finger-like rock protrusions, seeming to rise up and rake the ship's hull. I took shore party ashore in a longboat, Gleeson was given command in my absence. The dwarf, Bolt, was recovered on the shoreline and joined the party. We pushed in towards the centre of the island. We were betrayed by our passengers Agniric and Kames. Kames was subdued, but Agniric fled. In his pursuit, a column was seen atop the central mountain. We set forth to investigate.
The marooned sailor, Tinder, was found hiding near the column. The rest of his party had perished in the cave beyond. The cavern beyond the column was identified as the tomb of Grazzitt One Eye. We ventured in, Percival and Bolt stood guard and kept an eye on Tinder. Our foray in to the tomb was repelled, by Grazzitt its self, we were fortunate to leave with our lives. Percival's inevitable betrayal came while we rested following this trial.
Percival attempted to take Father Howell to Verru as a sacrifice. His betrayal was foiled, he was subdued and restrained, to be returned to Myste-Hass to face the gallows. We descended to the centre of the island to confront Verru. His sacrificial ritual was interrupted, and the husk was vanquished. Despite our efforts, the daemon Gilas was manifested and we had no recourse but to flee. We were unable to retrieve Percival, however I am certain that his fate is sealed as the island began to sink back in to the depths it appeared to have risen from.
