God of Luck

Luck, chance or fate - these are the tools of Sardonyx. Many times has she been called upon before the throw of a dice, or in the face of questionable odds.
After the goddess Tempress turned against her fellow deities and created the World of Tempress, each of the six remaining gods, often referred to as the prime deities, chose to take up an aspect of life to watch over. Sardonyx chose luck.

Worshipers

As with all deities, the worshipers of Sardonyx come in a variety of forms.
Given her domain, Sardonyx is often the patron of gamblers, entertainers, mercenaries and thieves.
Clerics and paladins of Sardonyx tend to follow a more noble path. These devotees are known for defending the downtrodden, the unfortunate and the destitute. They seek to balance the scales, often choosing to fight with those faced with the most unfavourable odds, particularly combat and wars which are supposedly unwinnable.
Priests of Sardonyx are typically ambiguous and changeable religious leaders, they offer aid, healing and blessings depending on the whim of their goddess, perhaps the throw of a dice, a choice of a card or the toss of a coin.
There is no particular uniform that defines worshippers of sardonyx, but some churches wear her symbol on embroidered tabards, cloaks and shields for recognisability.
Sardonyx worshipers do not appreciate those who rig the scales, and force a conclusion. For this reason, many have not taken kindly to the new god, Fate.
For our Into the Wilds D&D games, you can have a character of any class follow the Piety Path - Sardonyx, in order to get the Goddess of Luck's favour.

Temples

Temples to Sardonyx come in a range of shapes and sizes.
City temples are often stone built building, with mixed architecture and décor.
But, shrines to the Goddess of Luck appear in lots of locations, including brothels, gambling houses and taverns. These shrines will usually be smaller dedications, with carvings and sometimes a place for offerings to made and taken.
Art, tapestries, mirrors and magic are all major features used within churches of Sardonyx to give a sense of duplicity, choice and reflection. Optical illusions and illusionary magic enhance these concepts, and are frequently designed to provide worshippers with a different experience on every visit to their goddess's sanctuary.
