Piety Path - Peridot

From Into the Wilds Wiki

Piety Paths

The path of piety is available to all character classes, but you can only gain piety from one deity at a time. If your character loses faith or changes direction with their beliefs, they will begin losing, or have all piety points removed. These boosts (or obstacles, depending on your perspective) are for flavour and to encourage good role playing. Piety will be rewarded or removed at the DM's discretion.

Earning and Losing Piety

You honour Peridot when you seek to discover or act as custodian of knowledge, carrying out acts such as:
  • Revealing a critical truth at an important moment.
  • Keeping a dangerous secret, despite personal cost.
  • Discovering or documenting an unknown peoples or poorly understood creature.
Your piety level decreases if you commit acts such as:
  • Revealing a secret that should remain unknown.
  • Selfishly refusing to share information.
  • Destroying research.

Piety 3+ : Votary of Peridot

You can cast 'Comprehend Languages' a number of times per day equal to your Intelligence modifier.

Piety 10+: Devotee of Knowledge

Whilst within a city, you have advantage on investigation checks. Furthermore, you can reroll an intelligence check or saving throw once per long rest. If you use this ability, you must take the new die.

Piety 25+: Peridot’s Disciple

You can cast 'Mordenkainen's Private Sanctum' requiring no material components once per long rest. Intelligence is your spell-casting ability for this spell.

Piety 50+: Champion of the Knowledge

You can increase your Wisdom or Intelligence score by 2.
