Piety Path - Dariss

From Into the Wilds Wiki

Piety Paths

The path of piety is available to all character classes, but you can only gain piety from one deity at a time. If your character loses faith or changes direction with their beliefs, they will begin losing, or have all piety points removed. These boosts (or obstacles, depending on your perspective) are for flavour and to encourage good role playing. Piety will be rewarded or removed at the DM's discretion.

Earning and Losing Piety

You honour when you demonstrate martial courage and uphold strong personal codes that expand his influence in a concrete way, carrying out acts such as:
  • Achieving a great victory
  • Overcoming a difficult fight honourably
  • Defeating a skilled foe in single combat
  • Winning a great feat of strength or skill.

Your piety level decreases if you commit acts such as:

  • Fleeing a battle
  • Showing cowardice
  • Besting an honourable enemy with deceit
  • Harming non-combatants.

Piety 3+: Votary of Dariss

You can cast 'Compelled Duel' a number of times per day equal to your Charisma modifier.

Piety 10+: Crusader of Dariss

You can cast 'Crusader's Mantle' once per long rest.

Piety 25+: War’s Disciple

As a bonus action, you can call upon Dariss’ blessing gaining the following benefit for 1 minute or until incapacitated - creatures within 30ft of you can’t gain advantage on attack rolls against you. This ability can only be activated once per long rest.

Piety 50+: Champion of Dariss

You can increase your Strength or Constitution score by 2.
