Peacemaker War

From Into the Wilds Wiki

During the Age of Avatars

In -4 a Avatar of Dariss decided that the only way Tempress could really experience peace would be to annihilate the all the living being that the Goddess Tempress had gifted free will. The name of this Avatar has long been lost to history, known now only as the Peacemaker General. He gathered a number of followers, Avatars from a number of Gods, and began sweeping through the land committing mass genocide when met with any of Tempress's creation.
Nevertheless, the Peacemaker General met with resistance from mortals and Avatars alike. The Avatars had been tasked by their Gods with governing the land and many felt the Peacemaker's actions were a direct insubordination. Avatar's of Dariss rose against the Peacemaker, arguing that the God of War held dominion of conflict and, by association, disproved of genocide or even the notion of peace. Other Avatars had grown fond of the people of the land, or the power enslaving them granted.
It is uncertain how the Peacemaker General was eventually defeated, just that he was entombed in a prison designed never to be escaped. The general was sentenced to live out eternity powerless and trapped.
Eventually, the Gods decided to intervene. Tempress had been rampaged by war and Avatars everywhere were arguing in the name of Gods they had long lost connection with. The Divine Gate was opened and nearly all Avatars were withdrawn to the Divine Plane.
