Return To The Tower.jpg

A group of heroes return to the centre of the North Woods and enter the Tower of Silma again. Inside they ascend, delayed by traps and magical contraptions. They make their way to the top, where they are attacked by hellhounds which explode when killed. Reaching the final floor, they discover a crystalline creature who attempts to kill the party. After facing this individual, they notice a cracked Genai Stone that is emanating the thrum penetrating through the tower. Gartok uses his own blood to heal the stone. However, the plan backfires, opening a portal to another plane and infecting his own flesh with Genai magic.

Corym, Reinhold, Gartok, Dramos, Harbinger and Altibo all head towards the Tower of Dariss, fully rested after the ordeal in the town. Lots of the surrounding area is trampled by lots of foot traffic, and filled with dead animals who have been run down or killed by magic.
Before the well on Myloch's Way, the group encounter a wooden palisade built by hobgoblins. Inside there are lots of dead Helvettians and some hobgoblins. It looks as though the Helvettians were defending the hobgoblin fortress when it was attacked. The dead looks as if they were killed by sword and axe. This was the palisade that Mrs Stonewall and company had cleared and captured.
The group spends a couple of hours building pyres and burning the Helvettians individually. The hobgoblins are stacked and burnt together.
Returning to the Tower of Dariss, just a single story remains on top of the outcropping of rock.
Approaching the Tower of Dariss, the group see Crassus Hlaalu attempting to talk a Helvettian about precuring some sailors.
The Helvettians are expecting a group of reinforcement, Archaon, to arrive soon. Crassus relays that Ravaran headed south on The Banshee.
There are only five Helvettian left at the tower. The bulk of the Helvettians were in the armoury when the dragon attacked.
Crassus negotiates a deal with Harbinger and Dramos. They agree to employ a crew and repair the ship and docks. In return, Crassus and The Dead Man's Raft will come under the employ of The People's Company, and therefore Harbinger. Crassus agrees to take a loan for the repair for his ship.
A cave in has happened in the cavern beneath the Tower of Dariss, with bits of the tower falling into this space.
Reinhold and Corym find Engaro blessing over seventy people who have been killed in the dragon's attack.
Exploration of the Tower of Dariss reveals the lower levels intact, but the upper floors are destroyed. The room with Otogi is intact, and Corym swears on Dariss that he will allow the creature to go outside at some time soon.
The alter in the Tower of Dariss has escaped the majority of the damage, with just a large crack in the stone work.
When Corym brings Otogi food, the creature allows Otogi consciousness for just a moment to eat before the creature takes control of his mind again. The creature attempts to spit on Corym. Harbinger uses Divine Sense but does not sense anything from the creature. Corym casts dawn until Otogi is burnt to a crisp, then Corym kills the creature.
Moving on to find Lorey's body, the adventurers, and Engaro, encounter a group of greenskins trying to get the cleric of Dariss out of the tree. They claim they found him first. Seeing more trolls hidden in the foliage, Crassus casts Entangle. Combat ensues, but the creatures are defeated.
The hobgoblins were wearing garb similar to those in Myste-Hass and a number of scavenged helvettian items. They were clearly part of the force that had taken Myste-Hass. The troll creature was wearing a glowing necklace. Dramos takes the magical item, a fist-sized stone.
Reinhold asks Lorey questions and he admits that he wrestled the dragon. Then, Reinhold asks if Lorey loves anyone in the city and he admits that he does, but he does not know her name.
Dramos teleports the group, but it goes a little of course and the group arrives near the well on Myloch's Way. The adventurers head across the hills with Lorey's body.
