The Deacon was a high-powered cleric who once worked with Morthel. It was said that Ravaran and The Deacon were Morthel's right and left hand, though they never seemed to get on between themselves.
The Deacon sported a shaved head and was bearded. He wore armour of metal and a necklace with symbols of all the gods. He was a dark elf with pale skin that put him somewhere between an elf and a vampire.
The adventurers faced The Deacon when they travelled north to the Fallen Palace in an attempt to free the magic users from their imprisonment. The Deacon had been meeting with an elven delegation, but he knew the adventurers were coming. To taunt the group he was executing goliaths who had been enslaved with Control Collars.
The Deacon was killed in The Arena by Cao. Morthel wanted the Wish Stone which acts as Hurricane's heart. However, it would seem he was also displeased with The Deacon. So, he sacrificed the priest to weaken Hurricane in combat, watching the bout and then swooping down to face Cao himself, when The Deacon was defeated.
