Heading to the old church in the wilderness, the group encounter scouts from Connogan’s party on Myloch’s Road. Harbinger and Berticus convince one of these men, Krynt, to lead them to Connogan. On route, the party spots a goblin running across the planes, carrying an egg. Shortly after a griffin flies in, attacking the group. Ulborin takes the egg. They arrive at the old church and enter, revealing this is an old temple devoted to Alaie. Some dark force has taken hold of the building, and incorporeal undead are released from the altar. The undead are fought off and a magical sword, Fey Hewer, is discovered.
