- Pallor wakes to find the inn locked, but she can hear Dr Baum playing outside. A newcomer, Cloudy, introduces himself as Pallor attempts to escape from the upper floor of the inn.
- One of Williams men intervenes, helping them with guards on the door to leave the city without a formal pass. However, they are informed that they will be required to apply for a fresh pass on arrival back to the city.
