Tarak was the physical host for Zadak and discovered within the catacombs beneath the Tower of Dariss.

Harbinger's Notes

Behind the throne in the large cave beneath the Tower of Dariss, Cao discovered an exit to the cliff face outside and another entrance on the sheer face about 40ft up. Going up on the Magic Carpet and in, the group finds another shrine and Tarak (wearing his robes) on the balcony. He’s been imprisoned here. Zadak took his body, leaving his soul to watch as he used his physical form to wage war. When Zadak was forced from his body and was confined to the throne, he cursed Tarak to remain with the body as a soul. A tentacle creature - Balhanoth - kept him here.
Tarak asked the party to inform Anglan that his action had not been his own and Zadak had taken his form and lied to them, pretending to be a friend.
After informing the group about Zadak being harnessed within the throne, Tarak turned to a mist and floated away.
During a vision of the past, the adventurer saw Tarak's form inhabited by Zadak. He was using a magical device to speak to King Ulric in Anglan. He said, "Majesty, King Ulric, the troops are all prepared. Once we have sent the might of the Anglan fleet we will crush the demons, goliaths and orcs. We know the female demon is known as Throlti."

There was an explosion in the distance and then it goes silent on one end of the conversation. Laughter follows. Tarak was laughing.
