- The Twelve are Avatars that once ruled the continent surrounding Myste-Hass. Each Avatar is an aspect of one of the prime deities.
- There are two Avatars for each deities, splitting the remit of their prime gods in two.
- Knowledge of these Avatars first came about when a party of adventurers found a door beneath the old Church of Alaie. On this door, there were twelve symbols representing each of the Avatars beneath the icon of their respective God.
