Genai

The Genai is device with which all creation is forged. According to myth, the Genai was stolen by a goddess by name of Tempress. She used this immeasurably powerful artifact to create her own world, which she named after herself. When she was brought to task by the other gods, she was struck by a blow so powerful that it also shattered the Genai artifact into many shards. It is believed that the stone fell to the world with her and littered the lands of Tempress.
These shards embedded themselves within the land, powering all arcane power. They form the Ley Lines and nexuses that map Tempress.
Many Genai Stones have been recovered and used for power. However, these stones are typically not the actual shards of the Genai from beyond the Divine Gate. Instead, these stones are crystals that were especially susceptible to the energy initially released by the fallen shards of the Genai, absorbing the power and holding it.
