It constructs a mask from its victims which is supposed to be terrifying to even the bravest warriors. These creatures are created by necromancers.

Alnuf was a murder victim which the adventurers investigated to find his killer.
Alnuf's throat appeared to have been gashed with a jagged weapon on the northern side of the Temple of the People. There was not a lot of blood, and it was possible he was killed elsewhere and moved.
