Piety Paths

The path of piety is available to all character classes, but you can only gain piety from one deity at a time. If your character loses faith or changes direction with their beliefs, they will begin losing, or have all piety points removed. These boosts (or obstacles, depending on your perspective) are for flavour and to encourage good role playing. Piety will be rewarded or removed at the DM's discretion.

Earning and Losing Piety

You honour Alaie when you respect the power of wild natural elements, and embrace the vulnerabilities of creatures within this cycle, carrying out acts such as:
  • Aiding a sick or injured wild animal.
  • Stopping those who hunt for sport or profit.
  • Slaying an aberration or undead.

Your piety level decreases if you commit acts such as:

  • Killing an animal for any reason other than necessity.
  • Starting a fire that threatens a settlement or natural habitat.
  • Seeking to place restrictions or control over the natural world.

Piety 3+ : Votary of Alaie

You can cast 'Entangle' once per long rest.

Piety 10+: Devotee of the Elements

You can cast 'Speak With Animals' once per long rest.

Piety 25+: Nature’s Disciple

When a beast is about to attack you, it must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must choose a different target, or the attack automatically misses you. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this trait for 24 hours.

Piety 50+: Champion of the Wild

You can increase your Wisdom or Dexterity score by 2.
